VirtuHear serves patients throughout Delaware County, including Media, Newtown Square, Springfield, Broomall, Havertown, Glen Mills, and nearby communities. From our office in downtown West Chester, and through in-home visits, our licensed hearing instrument specialists provide free comprehensive hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and ongoing care.

We take a calm, clinical approach. We test first, explain your results in plain language, and only then discuss whether hearing aids are appropriate. Our Chester County patients can find local details on our Chester County hearing aids page.

What’s Included

What to Expect at Your Evaluation

A comprehensive evaluation usually takes 45 to 60 minutes. We review your hearing concerns and health history, check your ear canals, test how well you hear tones and understand speech, and discuss the results with you. If anything suggests a medical concern, we will recommend that you see your physician. Details are on our hearing test page. If you’d like a first step from home, try our free online hearing screening. It is a screening, not a diagnosis.

Prescription Hearing Aids vs. Over-the-Counter Devices

Over-the-counter hearing aids are designed for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, and you set them up yourself. Prescription hearing aids are programmed to your measured hearing results by a licensed hearing instrument specialist and adjusted over time, in the office, at home, or through Remote Hearing Care. An evaluation helps clarify which approach suits your hearing. VirtuHear does not sell hearing aids online; every fitting is done in person.

Hearing Benefits and Insurance

Some health plans include hearing benefits. We work with networks including TruHearing, UnitedHealthcare Hearing (which includes Epic Hearing), and Amplifon. Because coverage varies by plan, we offer a free hearing benefit check so you know what your plan may offer before deciding. For general background, see Does insurance cover hearing aids?
