What Oticon is known for

Oticon designs its hearing aids around a philosophy it calls BrainHearing: supporting the way the brain makes sense of sound, rather than only making sounds louder.

Oticon styles we fit

How an Oticon fitting works at VirtuHear

1. Free hearing evaluation. A licensed hearing instrument specialist tests your hearing in our downtown West Chester office. The visit takes about an hour and no referral is needed. We also look in your ear canals, including a check for earwax; if we see buildup or anything that needs medical attention, we refer you to your physician or another appropriate provider.
2. Free hearing benefits check. VirtuHear is in-network with several insurance hearing benefit programs. Before you decide on anything, we review what your plan may cover. Check your hearing benefits.
3. Choosing a style. We go over your results, your listening needs and your budget, and explain which Oticon styles and technology levels fit them, alongside the other brands we carry (Signia, Phonak, Oticon and Unitron).
4. Fitting and follow-up. Your hearing aids are programmed to your results and fine-tuned at follow-up visits.
5. Repairs. If your hearing aids need service, most repairs take about one week. See hearing aid repairs.

In-home visits are available by appointment for people who find it hard to get to the office; please ask about scheduling and any visit fee when you call. We also work with residents of West Chester senior communities.
